The P.E department is made up of five full-time staff, one of whom has a day release role to carry out the duties of the School Sports Co-Ordinator. There are two female staff members and three males in the department who teach the full range of activities from Year 7 to Year 13. As well as core P.E, the department offer Edexcel GCSE P.E in Key Stage 4, which is a popular course. Students who opt for this course are assessed externally by a one and a half hour written examination in the summer of Year 11. They are also expected to complete various pieces of controlled assessment tasks, and offer four practical activities, which are also externally assessed. In Year 11, students are allowed to opt for their chosen activity each term. The activities available each year vary. In Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form), we offer Cambridge Technical Level 3 in Sport.
