Saint Benedict Catholic Voluntary Academy students have achieved a 100 per cent pass rate along with a large rise in the percentage of top A-level grades this year.

A total of 54 per cent of grades were A*-B, compared to 42 per cent last year and 27 per cent of grades were A*/A, up from 14 per cent last year. The average points score per subject was 36, compared to 32 last year.

Mr Gritton said he was extremely pleased with this year’s results.

He said: “We are thrilled to see such an impressive increase in our top grades and to have achieved a 100 per cent pass rate. This fantastic news also comes on the back of our Sixth Form recently being graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We would like to congratulate our students and thank our dedicated staff who have supported them along the way. We wish all of our students the best of luck as they move on to the next exciting stage of their lives, be that university, an apprenticeship or employment.”
