Working in Partnership with our Parents and Carers

We will work in partnership with you, our parents and carers, and keep you well informed about your child’s progress so that you are clear in the ways you can support them:

  • We will regularly report your children’s progress to you, setting ambitious targets for them but supporting them closely in achieving these.
  • We will organise additional information events for you at important stages throughout their time at school, assisting you to make vital decisions with them.
  • We will help you understand what kind of work they will be set and how you can support your child. We will also help you to support your child through important times of transition from primary to secondary and from secondary to Post 16 education.
  • We will keep you regularly updated through newsletters, our website, Twitter (@StBenedictDerby), text and email to ensure you have a good sense of what’s happening in school and how you can get involved. We will enable you to have your say and contribute through our very active Parent Forum which supports us with fundraising events and decision making in school.

I enjoy the wide range of lessons. from Design Technology to Computing and Drama and I taking part in the school shows which have really helped to improve  my confidence.

I am very pleased with how positive my two sons are about Saint Benedict. They enjoy the learning environment, working with the staff and also make use of the varied extra-curricular activities. They have really flourished during their time at the school.

” My daughter has thrived at St Benedict. I find the staff helpful, friendly, approachable and dedicated to helping my daughter achieve her potential. I don’t think as a parent you can ask for any more
